The examples use 1×, 2× and 4× Kazakhstan’s 2025 GDP per person in local currency (7,655,116 KZT, World Bank) as reference salaries. GDP per person is not a wage; it is a neutral, cited yardstick for low, middle and senior pay.
Worked example
For a salary of 15,300,000 KZT a year, the employer adds about 1,912,500 KZT (12.5%) in mandatory contributions, for a total of 17,212,500 KZT, about $33,035 at the 2025 average exchange rate. The rate is roughly flat across salaries (12.5% to 12.5%), so on-costs scale with pay.
What is not included
- OMIC is capped at 40 minimum monthly wages and pension contributions at 50 (caps not modelled). Employer pension and social insurance apply to citizens, residence-permit holders and EAEU nationals.
