|---|---|---|---|---|
| 153,000 EGP | 28,688 EGP | 18.8% | 181,688 EGP | $3,691 |

The examples use 1×, 2× and 4× Egypt’s 2025 GDP per person in local currency (153,221 EGP, World Bank) as reference salaries. GDP per person is not a wage; it is a neutral, cited yardstick for low, middle and senior pay.
Worked example
For a salary of 306,000 EGP a year, the employer adds about 37,575 EGP (12.3%) in mandatory contributions, for a total of 343,575 EGP, about $6,979 at the 2025 average exchange rate. Because some contributions stop at a ceiling, the effective rate falls from 18.8% at the lowest example salary to 6.1% at the highest, so senior hires cost proportionally less in on-costs.
What is not included
- Insurable salary is between EGP 2,700 and EGP 16,700 a month in 2026 (EGP 19,300 cap in 2027).
How to budget a hire in Egypt

- Convert to your budgeting currency with a current rate. The USD figures here use the World Bank 2025 average.
